Take a quick tour of how plans, daily work, reviews, cards, and profile settings connect. This mini guide makes it easy to find your way around trailward.ai.
What is trailward.ai?
trailward.ai is your learning guide. Tell us the skill you want to build, how much time you can give, and any limits you have. We return a paced plan with daily steps, quick reviews, and gentle check ins so you always know what to do next.
Milestones, blocks, days, and tasks
Plans are easier to follow when you see both the big picture and today's focus. We break the plan down in four layers:
- Milestones are the big wins. They describe what you should be able to do after a stretch of learning.
- Blocks are mini themes that sit inside a milestone and usually last a few days. They keep related topics together.
- Days open up in order. You will always see whether a day is locked, active, done, or skipped, so you know exactly where you stand.
- Tasks are the actions: read, watch, listen, practice, build, reflect, or refactor something you created earlier. Each task includes detailed explanations, practical examples, and step-by-step guidance.
Today on the dashboard
The dashboard always shows the active day at the top. Tick a task when you finish it, or move it forward if today is packed. The Today card gives you a snapshot: what is done, what is next, and whether a review is coming up soon.
How cards and ratings work
Cards keep key ideas fresh with short spaced reviews. Each daily card session pulls the prompts that are due. After you answer, choose how it felt:
- Repeat if it was shaky. We will bring it back very soon.
- Later if it felt fine but not solid. Expect it in a few days.
- Mastered if it felt easy. We will show it again after a longer break.
These ratings automatically space your reviews so you can stay confident without juggling schedules by hand.
Staying on track with reviews
Daily reviews and learning cards help reinforce what you've learned. The cards use proven spaced repetition techniques to lock in knowledge for the long term.
Using the glossary
Capture new terms as you go. Each glossary entry stores your definition, links back to the task or resource where it came up, and can turn into a card so you can review the term later. Over time it becomes your personal quick reference sheet.
Chatting to build a plan
Start a conversation with the mentor in the chat. Share your goal, how many minutes you can spend, and any preferences like 'keep it free' or 'more hands on work.' The mentor suggests a plan you can accept, tweak, or regenerate until it matches your needs.
Profile settings and timezone
Your profile stores your personal info, active plans, and completion history. Update your timezone here so the app knows when a new day should start for you. If you travel, change the setting and the next day will unlock at midnight in your current location.
Archiving or deleting a plan
You can archive or delete a plan from the profile page. Archiving hides it from the dashboard but keeps the history. Deleting removes the tasks, cards, and reviews for that plan while leaving your account and other plans untouched. Use delete when a goal is complete or no longer needed.
